NICHOLAS J. VENDIKOS

In January 2010, Nicholas J. Vendikos was named President & CEO of the Cabrini Mission Foundation (CMF). Nick began at CMF in May of 2008 as the Vice President of Development. In his new role he is responsible for guiding CMF, and will direct programs to generate financial support for CMF.

Prior to his work at CMF, Nick served for about three years as the Vice President of Development at the United States Merchant Marine Academy Alumni Foundation where he traveled the country to meet with alumni, parents and leaders in the maritime industry. During his tenure, the USMMA Alumni Foundation raised over $17 million.

Prior to his arrival at the Academy, Nick was the Director of Development for five years at his alma mater, Xaverian, a Catholic, college-preparatory school in Brooklyn, NY. At Xaverian, he oversaw the entire development operation which included the school’s $10 million capital campaign, major gifts, special events, corporate and foundation relations, direct mail appeals and the phonathon.

Additionally, Nick worked for over two years in the Office of Institutional Advancement at St. John’s during the university’s $150 million capital campaign. His first development position was at La Salle Academy in the Lower East Side of Manhattan. Starting out as Assistant Director of Development and rising to Director he worked on La Salle’s successful $2.1 million capital campaign – the largest in the school’s long history. Nick put his writing and editing background to good use by overhauling the school’s direct mail appeals, grant proposals and publications.

Nick received his B.S. degree in Journalism from St. John’s University. He and his wife, Ismini, have been married for 12 years and are the proud parents of eight-year-old twins, Nicholas and Katerina. The Vendikos family resides in Bergen Beach, Brooklyn.
