Young and Old Alike Enjoy the First Annual Cabrini Carnivale

Heavy storm clouds and a bit of rain could not deter about 150 people who attended the first annual Cabrini Carnivale on Sunday, March 26, 2006. In fact, it was the perfect day to enjoy the myriad of indoor activities offered at the Carnivale.

The children bounced around in the Bouncy Castle, explored “space” in the Space Shuttle, and created works of art at the Spin Art and button-making tables. With their painted faces, each child had the chance to morph into his or her favorite superhero or animal. The laughter of children was heard all around along with the boom of upbeat music. Adults also had their share of fun—they were treated to a dancing Sr. Bernadette Anello, MSC, President of the Cabrini Mission Foundation, who initiated various line dances and showed the audience some graceful dance moves.

By the end of the day, the gymnasium at Xavier High School was witness to the first successful Carnivale, and the Cabrini Mission Foundation looks forward to another fun-filled day next year! Our warmest thanks to all who attended, supported and volunteered at the Carnivale. Our gratitude is extended especially to our generous sponsors: Cabrini Medical Center, Xavier High School, Halstead Management, Maureen Baehr, and Mike Hoffman. It could not have been made possible without your tremendous generosity.
