A Year and 8,000 Miles |

Sr. Diane traveled nearly 8000 miles for the express purpose of joining us for the evening. The gathering was a pleasant mix of Barbara and Johns friends, Missionary Sisters, along with friends and collaborators, and CMF Board members, made comfortable in the warm and beautiful Costantino home. Sr. Dianes moving presentation covered the scope of work undertaken by the St. Philips Mission in Swaziland, including health care outreach for HIV/AIDS and TB, Cabrini Hostel for orphaned children, the Education Sponsorship program, the Agricultural Program, and support services including: water, maintenance, buildings and security. Photographs of the children, workers and projects brought to life this important educational program. Questions, answers and informal conversation, followed. In another part of their home, a poignant video depiction of the heroic roles that the Swazi grandmothers (gogos) play when their adult children have been wiped out by HIV/AIDS was played. At the beginning of the evening, guests were told that they would be informed, be moved, and hopefully, be generous. In all three areas, the Costantinos, Sr. Diane, and Cabrini Mission Foundation have every reason to be pleased. Learn more by reading this Special Cabrini Ministries Report (.pdf) |
